Surgical removal of a chalazion

Treatment of chronic Meibomian gland inflammation in case of failure of conservative treatment. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, with an incision on the conjunctival side (without external scarring).

Recovery: slight swelling and redness subside within 5–7 days. Return to daily activities is possible the next day.

Removal of yellow plaques (xanthelasma)

Surgical excision of cholesterol deposits from the medial part of the eyelids. In the case of larger lesions, the procedure may require delicate skin reconstruction.

Recovery: healing takes about 7–10 days; temporary bruising or swelling may occur. The cosmetic result is very good.

Removal of fibromas, warts, and pigmented moles

Precise excision of skin lesions on the eyelids and face, preserving a safety margin.

Recovery: small stitches are removed after 5–7 days, minimal scarring. Histopathological examination can be ordered if necessary.

Removal of a conjunctival lesion (e.g., pterygium, cyst, or sac)

Excision of the lesion with restoration of conjunctival continuity, in some cases using a graft (e.g., pterygium).

Recovery: tearing, light sensitivity, and a gritty sensation in the eye may occur for several days. Full comfort returns within 1–2 weeks.

Histopathological examination

Every surgically removed lesion can be subjected to microscopic analysis in a pathological laboratory – especially recommended for pigmented moles and suspected oncological cases.
